Tweetvolume
Tweetvolume allows you to see the popularity of certain keywords in the land of Twitter.
At first glance I thought Twitter was ridiculous... A waste of time and energy, but I'm starting to see it's appeal.
It's a form of "micro blogging" that allows a users to text the answer to the "what are you doing?" question from anytime via there computer or cell phone or web device ... Users can choose to follow whoever they choose.
Links are shared, blogs, products, news articles, .... generally truncated via a plugin like tinyURL... 140 characters is the max allowed for each "Tweet", as they are called.
I'm still figuring out some of the apps and process of replying to specific individuals in the way that makes this a form of "chat room to go". I'm really not into "chat", but I like the random group discussion that ends up being a source of information that I may not get elswhere ....
What you get depends upon who (or what) you follow.
