Meth Kills . . . and Worse
This truly is the drug from hell. I'm thankful I don't speak from direct experience on this one. But I've seen the effects. It changes people. It reprograms the brain. one thing, one thought, more meth, more meth... People become aggressive, agitated, paranoid, zombies.
You may have seen the Faces of Meth pictures
I've got neighbors that have the look. They're are tweakers in and out at all hours, the Cops raid the place every month now.... But there are new faces showing up all the time...
Nice teeth.
The scariest part is that this could be the Prom Queen from your high school.... The validectorian, the jock, the prep .... It's not just us "stoners" (speaking for myself, now recovered since 15) that hung out in the back parking lot in high school. This can take your children, your brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends.
If any of this is hitting home? If it hasn't yet, the statistic are not in your favor. This is a life and death issue.
It's clear that we shouldn't let it...hit home, I mean. But, it's also clear that after the very first hit, it's likely to be too late. The statistics on recovery are lousy.
What am I doing about it? Not enough. Let me work on protecting my family first.
