Foggy Road to the Future?

Someone asked me today where I wanted to be in 10 years and I realized my picture is a bit foggy. This is a little unusual for me because I'm a real believer in having a plan and a vision for, not just where you want to be, but how you are going to get there! And to have a plan, step by step, break it down... This is how dreams become reality....... I know this part.

I have some ideas about what it looks like, what it involves, what motivates me... but I don't know how it all comes together. One of my problems is that I want to do it ALL. There is so much I want to work on and be involved in. I begin a lot of things. But, all too often, I begin without a plan. I'm all about: "Ready-Fire-Aim" or even "Fire-ready-aim".

Just read through an eBook from Vic Johnson (goals2go) from his interviews with John Goddard and the first recommendation is to make a "Life list"..... Yes, that's right....... The BIG ONE. All the things that you want to do or have before you're out of this world!

It's timely to be making this list with the year coming to a close, but this is something we can do at any time of the year.

Suzanne started a tradition on New Years day a bunch of years ago. We invite friends over to bring their magazines and scissors, we put out the nibblies and the apple cider and everyone collages and cuts and pastes their vision of the future. People really get into it and have come to look forward to the event. What they have at the end of the day is an encouraging piece of art to place where they will see it,in order to remind them of their dreams.

I highly recommend it. It's an important step.... but not the only step. I'm looking forward to it.... It usually helps evaporate some of the fog.
